I love photographing this family every year! It doesn’t help that my brother has the cutest little girls ever! Sorry, I’m bias since they are my precious nieces. These girls are growing up fast and I can see the different during each annual photo session. We happened to have a beautiful day towards the end of fall, where the weather was perfect for photographing. I love to capture family sessions in the fall, with all the beautiful colors that mother nature provides for us.
I first captured this beautiful baby girl back in June when she was just a newborn. Now she’s 6 months and looking cuter than ever! Her session happen to be around the holidays which made for some cute Christmas pictures. Looking forward to capturing her wonderful smile again for her 1 year cake smashing session!
One of my best friends from High School, Melissa, came to visit me this past weekend for my baby shower. She brought her 8 month old, precious baby boy, Logan so that Brandon and I could meet him for the first time. From the moment I saw him in his car seat when they first arrived, I was in love. He smiles easily, fun to play with, and is all around a joyful little boy. He makes me excited to be having a boy in December! He was, however, our guinea pig for all the baby items we have collected so far; swinger, pack-n-play, jumperoo, etc. With their visit, Brandon and I got a glimpse of parenthood… and it was fun! We learned what other items we needed to add to our registry, for our next baby shower. We learned little “mommy” tricks from Melissa. And we learned that were going to be great parents (even though we knew that already, but it was nice to see how great we were together with Logan). I couldn’t have them leave without a mini photo session of one of the most precious baby boys ever… and Baxter (our precious little pug)!
It was so great to meet Mariella and her family! I met Mariella through a photography group and asked if anyone was interested in trading a photo session for a photo session to do our maternity photos. She responded to my post and it just so happened she was interested in a maternity session for herself. Mariella is due in November so we did her session first. It was fun to meet her, her husband, and play with her cute little girl, Holly! It was raining at the beginning of the season but that didn’t stop us from capturing some great memories of her second pregnancy. Some of the best lighting is when its cloudy! Jenni is a dear friend of mine and I was excited she wanted me to photograph her maternity session. We are both due a month from each other and we’re blessed to have shared out pregnancies together. Jenni was inspired to have the organic, nature feel to her pregnancy pictures. Therefore, I suggested shooting the session at Lubber Run Park in Arlington, VA. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot because of the gorgeous scenery with rocks, streams, bridges, and a bunch of shaded trees. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to capture these photos. I cannot wait to meet Jenni & Franklin’s baby in just a few short weeks!
Wouldn’t you have it, that I found a carving in one of the trees that says “Meghann was here”! Although, my name is spelt differently, but it was still pretty cool to see!
